In the framework of III International Eurasian Tournament on traditional ju-jitsu and training seminar held in Saint Petersburg on December 5 – 7, 2014 Yury V.Smirnov was given SOKE title and 9 dan rank for his contribution to global development of ju-jitsu.Higher master degrees were awarded to Yury Smirnov by President of AJJIFGlobal (“All Japan Ju-Jitsu International Federation”) Alexey Kunin. Diplomas are acknowledged and signed by distinguished grandmasters of martial arts and headmasters of their schools – the fact of historic significance:

Jan-Erik Karlsson – President of Swedish Ju-Jitsu School;

Frank W. Dux – martial artist, World heavyweight full-contact Kumite Champion, scriptwriter, film producer, Hollywood actor; 

Mikhail I. Tikhomirov – Chairman of the Unionof National and Non-Olympic Sports of Russia, Honorary President of International Sambo Federation.

In 2012 Yury Smirnov was given higher referee rank on traditional ju-jitsu byAJJIFGlobal “All Japan Ju-Jitsu International Federation”.
